
Kendall L. Heaton, age 78, of Moffat passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at a local care center. He was born on October 15, 1938 in Macomb, IL the son of Jesse and Ruby Williams Heaton. Kendall graduated from Macomb High School and went onto Spoon River College and then to Western Illinois University. He was a member of the Macomb Police Dept. retiring in 1983, became a Schwans salesman retiring in 1992, went to work for the Taney County Missouri’s Sheriff’s Office and the Branson, MO Police Department retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Macomb Police Pistol Club, was auditor and life member Illinois Police Association, past president of the Frontier Division of the Illinois Police Association, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, and White Shrine in Macomb and Quincey where he was a Consistory, and was a Shriner in Peoria, IL. He was also a member of the Thursday Club here in Temple. While not busy with work, he enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and especially competitive pistol shooting in which he was one of Illinois top ranked shooters. Kendall is survived by his wife Carol of Moffat, children Cindy (Rex) Bramel of Cape Coral, FL, Ronald Heaton of Tulare, CA, Lindy (Greg) Bates of Roseville, IL, and Jim (Mary) Heaton of Belton, TX, step-children; Scott Hainline of Good Hope, IL and Lori (Steve) Michels of Sweet Springs, MO, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Moffat VFD, the Thursday Club, Marlandwood West, Kindred Hospice, Scott and White Home Health, Mitch Hinman and Associates, and all of those that were part of Kendall’s life. Especially the past six and a half years after his stroke. He was truly blessed by all.
