

Funeral services for Kenneth Joe Brock, 84, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Lillian Hinds officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be at Moody Cemetery. Mr. Brock died Saturday at a Temple Living Center. Mr. Brock was born July 5, 1930 in Energy, Illinois to Rick Brock and Clara Bostain Brock. He graduated from High School in Herrin, Illinois and earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Mary Hardin Baylor. He moved to Temple from Illinois in 1952. He married Shirley Ruth Brumbelow June 30, 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and then served in the National Guard. He received the Purple Heart. He worked as a Domiciliary Assistant at the V.A. Hospital and then became a substitute teacher at Belton Schools. He also volunteered over 750 hours at the V.A. Hospital. He was a member of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church and VFW #1820. Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Bill Brock and J.R. Brock and two sisters Vivian Easley and Jewell Cheatham. Survivors include his wife Shirley Brock of Temple; one daughter Pamela Baron and her husband Mike of Temple; one son Michael Brock and his wife Joanne of Margate, Florida; six grandchildren William Hoppock of Temple, Harland Hoppock and his wife Susan of West Columbia, Timothy Hoppock and his wife Andrea of Cedar Park, Courtney Brock of Houston, Michael Brock of San Diego and Brandon Wichmann of Austin; seven great grandchildren Sophie Hoppock, Alexander Hoppock, Gabriel Hoppock, Michael Hoppock, Haley Cadorette, Ashley Cadorette and Breeley Cadorette. Memorials may be made to Meadow Oaks Baptist Church Building Fund Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
