He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Ray and Nora Lydia Sublett.
He started his career in high school as a cabinet maker in Fredericksburg, Texas. He was well respected and took great pride in his work. After graduating from high school in 1958, he went into the National Guard. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1967, and married the love of his life in December of 1969. They remained in Houston until after his retirement when they fulfilled their dream of living out in the country.
He loved life and had a great love for his family and the Lord. He is probably best remembered for his smile and laughter. He enjoyed his last years out in the country sitting on the porch watching beautiful sunsets, taking his golf cart to the creek, and playing ball with his dog. He also enjoyed gardening and participating in church activities. Like his parents, he always enjoyed a good game of Yahtzee.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A private memorial service will be given at a later date.
