LaVerne Frances Adams, age 72, of Buckholts died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 21 at Davilla Assembly of God Church with Chaplain Margaret Clemings officiating. Mrs. Adams was born November 4, 1935 in Oakland, California to Robert Wesley and Pearl (Hatton) Scarbrough. She had been a resident of the Buckholts area for the past 25 years. She married Robert E. Adams on June 7, 1953 at Alameda Naval Air Station in California. She had taught pre-school at First Baptist Church in Temple and First Baptist Church in Belton. She was a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Teresa Nix and husband, David of Rowland Heights, California, one son, Robert M. Adams and wife, Deborah Kay of Buckholts, four grandchildren, Michael John Adams, Joshua Roach, Jennifer Taylor and Laura Roach and two great-grandchildren, Kendall and Mason. Also surviving are three sisters.
