Lawrence was born on April 22, 1940, to John Skrabanek and Sydonie (Marek) Skrabanek. He attended Rogers High School and later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering.
On September 3, 1960, Lawrence married Sandra Green at First Christian Church of Rogers. Together, they built a life that took them from Rogers to Austin and Hurst before eventually returning home to the east Bell County area and settled in Holland.
Lawrence worked for Bell Helicopter for 18 years in Hurst. After many years away, he was ready to return home to his roots in east Bell County. He and Sandra made the move back to Central Texas, where Lawrence worked for various companies before concluding his professional career at Wilsonart in Temple.
Retirement did not mean slowing down for Lawrence. He continued working on the farm where he and Sandra lived and found great enjoyment in raising cattle, tending beautiful gardens, and caring for his pecan orchard. Away from the farm, Lawrence enjoyed trips to the casino in Shreveport, Louisiana, and traveling with family and friends. Among life's simpler pleasures, one of his favorites was sitting outside at the end of the day and listening to the sounds around him as the sun went down.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sydonie Skrabanek; sister, Laverne Cabla and her husband Jerry; brother, Raymond Skrabanek; and sister, Linda Schneider and her husband Harold.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Sandra Skrabanek; daughter, Donna Stone and husband Shane; sons, Lawrence Skrabanek Jr. and Steven Skrabanek and wife Cathy; five grandchildren, Denman Skrabanek, Kandace Baker, Trey Skrabanek, Koby Stone, and Jefferson Skrabanek; and four great-grandchildren, Emberlynn Skrabanek, Carter Baker, John Baker, and Everett Baker.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Stone, Craig Schneider, Jimmy Baker, Denman Skrabanek, Dahlton Schneider, and Koby Stone.
