
Leola T. Mock of Temple, Texas went to be with the Lord the evening of May 18th at the age of 83. She was in her home surrounded by her devout husband of 62 years, James and her family. Lee, as her family and friends called her, was born in Rosebud, Texas on December 9, 1929. She was raised in a Christian family consisting of a loving mother, father, and younger sister. Her education began in Rosebud public schools. Lee graduated from Rosebud high school at the age of 16. She then moved to San Antonio and later graduated from a local business school. After graduation, she worked for the Bell Telephone Company and later became a full-time homemaker. She married James Mock on April 7, 1951. James said she became more loveable with each passing year. Their family included 3 sons and 1 daughter: James L. Mock Jr. (deceased); Bruce A. Mock of Temple, Texas; David B. Mock of McKinney, Texas; Melissa Jennings of San Saba, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Etta Litzman of Somerville, Texas survives her. As an active member of First Baptist Church in Temple, Lee faithfully participated in the Naomi class. Lee Mock devoted her life to loving and caring for her family well. She was always loving, selfless, kind, generous, and patient. She enjoyed giving to those less fortunate than she. One of her favorite past times was playing card games and Scrabble with her family. Lee loved to visit new places. Each year, she looked forward with eager anticipation to the first winter cold front. She enjoyed exploring the woods at her sister's and brother-in-law's property and finding the perfect pinecone, leaf, or red berries. Lee enjoyed sewing and making crafts. She loved tending to her beautiful, quaint English garden. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25 at Scanio-Harper Funeral home in Temple. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church, Temple. 207 N. 3rd Street.
