Lorraine Anderson Welch

Lorraine Anderson Welch, age 92, of Temple died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 13, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Reed and Rev. Ray Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Welch was born September 24, 1916 near Moody to David Edward and Emma (Alexander) Anderson. She had been a resident of Temple for over 50 years. She married Forrest G. Welch in November 7, 1935. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1972. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse at Santa Fe Hospital for 19 years and Scott & White for 15 years before retiring. She also worked at Patsy's Floral for 10 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Temple. Survivors include her son, Kenny Welch and wife, Patsy of Temple, two grandchildren, David Welch and wife, Cheryl of Temple and Vikki Welch Thresher and husband, Scott of Dallas and eight great-grandchildren, Blake, Dalton, Dylan, Dawson, Kailyn, Mitchell, Nicky and Andrew.
