Louis Andrew Cheek

Louis Andrew Cheek, age 64, of Temple died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at his residence. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, February 15 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Knob Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Cheek was born June 15, 1943 in Houston to James and Ellen (Slatter) Morgan. He was reared and educated in Hitchcock but spent time in the Flo community near Buffalo. He was a longtime resident of Fairfield where he owned and operated Cheek Iron Works for several years. He was also involved in ranching. He had been a resident of Temple for the past two years. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Crowe of Temple, six daughters, Michelle Pratt of Fairfield, Charlotte Lawson of Austin, Shawn Woodard of Hitchcock, Audra Jackson of Fairfield, Jamey Brasfield of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Misti Jackson of Temple, three sons, Louis Ray Cheek of Seguin, Ron Hill, Jr. of Allen and Chad Cieslewicz of Temple. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and four sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or favorite charity.
