Lucia Lopez

Lucia Lopez, age 81 of Temple, passed away with peace and grace on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in a local hospital.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 AM Friday, February 1st at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM.

Mrs. Lopez was born December 14, 1937 in Cuero to Leo Sustaita and Antonia Olguin Sustaita.  She has been a longtime resident of Temple.  She married Jessie Lopez on October 5, 1953.  He preceded her in death March 17, 2001.  She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Sustaita.  Survivors include two sons, Jessie Lopez, Jr. and wife, Jeanine of Hewitt and Anthony Lopez and wife, Susan of Temple, one sister, Dora Lopez and husband, Juan of Temple, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers:  Joe Rela, John Rela, Kyle Cosper, Cody Cunningham, Joel Ruiz and Daniel Rela.  Honorary pallbearer:  Cameron Lopez.
