Lucius Hood, Jr,

Mr. Hood died Saturday at his residence.

Mr. Hood was born in Temple to Lucius Hood, Sr. and Barbara King Hood.  He graduated from El Campo High School and from San Diego Technical College.  He served in the U.S. Marines.  He moved back to Temple, from California in 1984.  He married Charlene Portis February 14, 1987.  He worked for Materials Transportation Company as a welder.  He was a Baptist and had been a member of a Pool League.

Survivors include his wife Charlene Hood of Temple; his children Jonathan Lee Hood of Temple, Sharlisiea Denise Hood of Temple, Lucius Hood Foster of Houston, Dana Hood Foster of Houston, Lucius Hood III of San Antonio and Karia Hood Ford of Richmond; two brothers Shawn Hood and Alton Lee Hood; seven sisters Bernedia Hood, Betty Hood, Birdy Moore, Brenda King, Pearl Hood, Linda Faye Hood and Gloria Hood; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Baylor Scott & White Vasicek Cancer Treatment Center. 

Viewing will be Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
