

Margaret Ann Bandy passed away on February 1st, 2017 in Temple due to complications from pneumonia. She was 69. Margaret was born on July 6th, 1947 in Temple to her parents Clifton and Clara Mae Elliott. She graduated from Temple High School and attended Temple Junior College. She married David McPherson Bandy, Jr. on February 10th 1968. She worked as a bookkeeper at Bandy Laboratories and VETS Company, and she was an owner of Triple D Western. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Temple. She is survived by her husband, David; her son and daughter-in-law David and Elizabeth Bandy of Temple; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Travis Wood of Novato, CA; her son and daughter-in-law Dwayne and Julie Bandy of Lakeway, TX; her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Lindy Tischler of Temple; her brother and sister-in-law Mack and Francis Elliott of Temple; and four grandchildren, Madeline and Logan Bandy, and Zachary and Ethan Wood. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a strength and inspiration to those around her, and she was generous to numerous causes and people, often quietly, never seeking praise for her efforts. She has been described as a spitfire, stubborn, even ornery sometimes, with a wicked sense of humor. She strove to be honest about herself and others, and she was fiercely loyal to family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Monday, February 6th at First Baptist Church, Temple at 8015 W. Adams Ave. with Glenn Lackey and Rev. Jim Siegel officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 5th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home at 3110 Airport Rd from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the First Baptist Church Youth Fund.
