Margie Louise Bruce

Funeral services for Margie Louise Bruce, 70, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. M. Jared Morris officiating.  Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bruce died Saturday in a Round Rock Hospital.

Mrs. Bruce was born in Temple to Orville Lee Harper, Sr. and Clara Emily Meier Harper.  She lived in Temple all of her life.  She graduated from Temple High School in 1966 and married Kenneth Bruce Nov. 25, 1967.  He preceded her in death May 3, 2010.  She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Rainbow Bakery and Budget Optical.  She also worked at Bellwood Memorial Park.  She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church.Mrs. Bruce was preceded in death by one brother Dan Harper and one sister Clara Lee Stano.

Survivors include two sons Troy K. Bruce and his wife Patty of Jonestown and Christopher T. Bruce and his wife Lisa of Lott; step daughter Tina L. Jay and her husband Craig of Rockmart, Georgia; one brother Orville Lee Harper, Jr. of Temple; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Wildwood Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
