Marguerite Calvert, age 92, formerly of Temple died Friday, October 2, 2009 in Granbury. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Philip Shuler officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Calvert was born on September 1, 1917 in Fort Worth to Clarence E. and Daisy (Hayworth) Witt. She married Jack B. Calvert on August 1, 1936. She and her husband were active in numerous civic organizations in Temple. They were both avid golfers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, their daughter, Donna Gwen Calvert, one sister, Dorothy Louise Witt and one brother, Floyd Edward Witt. Survivors include one brother, W. E. "Pete" Witt of Granbury and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2407 W. Ave. P, Temple, TX 76504.
