Marian Alice Elza Mitchell, age 96 of Temple, died Monday, February 17, 2014 in a local nursing facility. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Little Flock Cemetery. Marian was born on October 16, 1917 in the Little Flock community to the late Jesse Calvin Elza, Sr. and Maude Alice Atkerson Elza. She married Sterling Cecil Mitchell on July 18, 1934 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1999. Marian was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church in Temple where she served as a teacher in the Beginner Department for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and two brothers. Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Nell Wofford of Temple and Carol Jean Allison of Marble Falls; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Mrs. Mitchell's name to Odyssey Hospice, 2626-B S. 37th Street, Temple, Texas 76504 or to the Little Flock Cemetery Association, P.O.Box 55, Temple, Texas 76503.
