Marvin Gerald “Gery” Gilley II passed from this life into the gates of Heaven on Thursday August 11th. Gery was 65 years old. Gery was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 29th, 1950. Gery attended Watonga High School in Watonga, OK where he played football, basketball, and was a state champion hurdler. He loved music, old movies, cookbooks, and fishing; but loved God, his wife, and his family above all. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Vera Gilley. He is survived by his wife Debbie of 44 years, and his three children Andrea Ruff and husband Chad of Belton TX, Ryan Gilley of Oakland CA, and Cassidy Gilley of Temple, TX, brother Sheldon Gilley and wife Verna of San Angelo, TX, sister Renee Sugden and husband Bob of Fairbanks, AK, and father-in-law J.W. Fipps of Temple, TX. He is “Poppa” to grandchildren Allie and C.J. Ruff.
