

Mary Ann Zinsmeyer Macey died at her home in D’Hanis, Texas on Thursday, August 11th, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born on March 2, 1931 in Hondo, Texas to John William Lawrence (Tappy) Zinsmeyer and Elizabeth Rieber (Tammy) Zinsmeyer. D’Hanis, Texas was her childhood home, attending St. Anthony Catholic School in D’Hanis and graduating from Hondo High School in 1949. Following graduation from high school she attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas before returning home to D’Hanis where she worked at the Medina County Court House. She married Harry Buford Macey, Jr. on August 29, 1954 in D’Hanis, Texas. During their early years they lived in Dallas, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, and New Orleans, Louisiana before settling in Temple, Texas where she lived for more than 40 years. She was active in the PTA/PTO serving leadership positions where ever her children were in school. She was an active member of the Bell County and Texas Medical Alliances, the City Federation of Temple, St. Lukes Catholic Church, and worked with the youth through active participation with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. Her most important accomplishments in life related to the guidance and upbringing of her four children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Betty Ann Macey, an infant son, and her brothers Jerome Zinsmeyer and Jack Zinsmeyer. She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, daughters Marilyn Streater and husband Douglas Streater, Lisa Nix and husband Terry Nix, and son Harry B. Macey III and wife Debbie Macey; by grandchildren Mary Beth Streater Anthony and husband Travis, Douglas Streater, Jr. and wife Elyse, Brittany Nix Schubert and husband Andrew, Jonathan Nix and wife Callie, Jordan Dawkins and husband Justin, Haley Macey Brent and husband Austin, Harry B. Macey IV. and wife Lynnsay; and great–grandchildren Jayci Dawkins, Jackson Dawkins, Colby Anthony, Camryn Anthony, Macey Brent, Madison Brent, Hudson Macey, Cooper Macey and Carson Streater. A Rosary will be on Friday, August 12th, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D’Hanis, Texas. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 15th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Salado, Texas. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple, Texas.
