Mary Carolyn Spencer, age 92, of Temple former longtime resident of Los Angeles, California died Saturday, February 24, 2007 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Mrs. Spencer was born November 14, 1914 in Goshen, Indiana to Edgar S. and Fannie Stutzman Hershberger. She was reared and educated in Decatur, Illinois and graduated from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. She married John P. Spencer on November 11, 1961 in South Pasadena, California. He preceded her in death in 1996. She had been a resident of Temple for the past eight years. She was employed as a commercial fashion artist for over 40 years before her retirement. Mrs. Spencer was a member of Oneonta Congregationalist Church in South Pasadena, California. Survivors include one sister, Ann Major of Wheaton, Illinois and six nieces and nephews including Peter Eimen and wife, Linda of Temple.
