Mary Liles Hughes

Mary Liles Hughes, age 78 of Temple, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her residence. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 19, at Bethel Assembly of God Church with Dr. Charles Rogers and Rev. Elwyn Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes was born July 10, 1936 in Liddieville, Louisiana to Oscar Sherman and Rosalie James Liles. She attended schools in Bastrop, Louisiana and Copperas Cove. She graduated from Copperas Cove High School. She married William E. (Bill) Hughes on February 5, 1954. She was a graduate of Evangel Christian University in Monroe, Louisiana. She was an ordained minister with World Ministry Fellowship. She and her husband traveled and preached the gospel. Survivors include her husband, William E. (Bill) Hughes of Temple, three daughters, Denise Graves and husband, Bill of Boerne, Theresa McCabe and husband, Michael of Natalia and Paula Lancaster and husband, Jerry of Oenaville, one son, Marcus Hughes of San Antonio, five grandchildren, Lauren Cloud and husband, Doug, Elizabeth Jans and husband, Joshua, Cardo Odom, Jerrod Lancaster and Jenna Metcalf and husband, Dustin and one great-grandson, Colter Metcalf.
