
Mr. Mike Whalen Mr. Mike Whalen (Uncle Mike), 55, of Temple died Tuesday September 18, 2007 in a Temple Hospital. Services for Mr. Whalen will be held at 9:00 AM Monday September 24, 2007 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Father Richard Felix officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 11:00 AM Monday at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Whalen was born October 7, 1951 in Bay Hill, Long Island, New York the son of Patrick and Mary Raven Whalen. He was a U.S. Army veteran and earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge while in the service. He was self employed in the Automotive Paint and Body Business for over 30 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Whalen his survived by his wife Jean Whalen of Temple one Stepson Richard Jackson of Moody 4 brothers Eddie Whalen of Shirley, New York Pat Whalen of Virginia Beach, Virginia Brian Whalen of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Gary Whalen of Palm Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his twin sister Theresa Montigny of Patchogue, New York and 4 additional sisters Jeannie Canavan of Patchogue, New York Cheryl Fielder of Sayville, New York Debbie Chiusano of Blue Point, New York and Mary Lou Durler of Blue Point, New York. Other survivors include nephew Kenneth and Kim Goldman of Belton, Texas and niece Karen Goldman of Troy, Texas and close friends John Medina, Kristine Johnson and Mike and Karen Hayes and Harvey Carr all of Temple, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Kevin Whalen in May 2007. A family visitation will be held from 3 until 5 PM Sunday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
