

Neil P. Collier, age 78 of Temple, died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at his residence. Private graveside services will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Collier was born on June 27, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Floyd Collier and Juanita Barr Collier. He married Bettye Sue Nolen on June 22, 1957 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Neil played basketball for the University of Arkansas in the 50’s and managed KTON radio station from the 60’s thru the 80’s. He was on the board of directors of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and owned and operated Fast Eddy’s Pizza for 10 years. Neil was the past president of Sunset Lions Club and was Jaycee of the year. He was song leader of the Dawson Sunday school class at First United Methodist Church in Temple and was an avid hole in one golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bettye Collier; son Bill Collier and wife Beth; daughter Patti Collier; six grandchildren, Jenna Gifford and husband Jacob, Dillan Aumuller, Josie Collier, Emry Collier, Kyra Dengel and Caden Dengel; two great grandchildren, Easton and Hunter Gifford; one grand son-in-law; and one sister.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Temple, 102 N. 2nd Street, Temple, Texas 76501.
