Opal S. Whittle

Opal S. Whittle, age 94 of Mineral Wells, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in a Mineral Wells care center.  A private graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, July 2nd at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.  A memorial service will be held in Mineral Wells at a later date.

Mrs. Whittle was born November 25, 1923 in Byron, Wyoming to Perry Green Sessions and Selma Jensen Sessions.  She was a graduate of Byron High School.  She was a veteran of the Women’s Army Corps during World War II.  She married Thomas Whittle on February 9, 1948 on Fort Lawton, Washington.  He preceded her in death June 11, 2006.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mineral Wells.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.  Survivors include her son, Edward T. Whittle and wife, Rebecca of Temple, four grandchildren, Brandon Whittle and wife, Lisa of Round Rock, Ryan Whittle and wife, Chris of Temple, Aaron Whittle and wife, Jennifer of Chicago and John Whittle of Temple and seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Claire, Maggie, Victoria, Emma and Andrew.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
