Patty Mayfield, age 90, formerly of Temple, passed away June 20, 2026, in Belton. Patricia Ann Rogan was born September 18, 1935, to Edward Eugene Rogan and Willie Mae Byars Rogan. She grew up in Austin and Georgetown, and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Austin. On May 29, 1954, she married Dick Raymond Mayfield in Austin. Over the coming years, his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company took the family to cities and towns across Texas. In 1972 they moved to Temple. She was active in volunteer work and Literary Review as well as other community groups, and was a member of First Methodist Church of Temple. She worked at Temple College in the Student Life Office and the Personnel Office in the 1980s.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Dick, of Belton; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Kay Mayfield of Temple; daughter and son-in-law Lori and Bill Maedgen of Salado; grandsons Travis Mayfield, Andrew Mayfield, and Thomas Mayfield, of Temple; granddaughter Hannah Maedgen Sefcik and her husband, Lance Sefcik, of Georgetown; and great-grandson Ace Allen Sefcik.
The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Hutto City Cemetery.
