Funeral services for Peggy Ray Gunter, 61, of Troy will be held at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Harlan Haines officiating. Mrs. Gunter died Saturday in a Temple hospital. Mrs. Gunter was born March 2, 1951 in Snyder to A.B. Ray and Lela Coates Ray. She married Lexy Gunter July 10, 1973 in Waco. She was a homemaker and was a volunteer E.M.T. with the Bruceville-Eddy EMS for many years. Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers Billy Ray, Gene Ray and George David "Snook" Ray. Survivors include her husband of 39 years Lexy Gunter of Troy; two daughters Lela "Missy" Harper and husband Daron of Bruceville-Eddy and Alexis Thompson and husband Mark of Troy; sister Patsy Mercer and her husband Billy Fred of China Spring; mother in law Ann Gunter of Arlington and five grandchildren Corey, Dylan and Lorrie Harper and Kim and Mark II Thompson. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
