Pete Resendez

Pete Resendez, age 68, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. A visitation for Pete will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd, Temple, Texas 76504. A Rosary will occur Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 6:30 PM, 3110 Airport Rd, Temple, Texas 76504. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 707 S. 6th St., Temple, TX 76504.

Pete was born in Los Alamitos, California, but moved to Temple, Texas as a toddler. He worked with his uncle for the City of Temple, among many other jobs before joining the Texas National Guard (Troop D, 124th Air Cav) for 14 years. He loved and was proud to serve as a crew chief on Huey helicopters before moving to San Antonio to open his video business.

Pete was always a prankster, fast with witty comebacks, and loved making people laugh. He will forever be remembered for his over-the-top Halloween parties. But, most importantly, he was always willing to give of himself when someone was in need, and he loved his family unconditionally. His smile and love will forever be in our hearts. Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Catarina Salazar Resendez; his father, David Resendez Sr.; a sister, Gloria Resendez; and a brother, Robert Salazar Resendez.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Koole Resendez of San Antonio; daughters, Lisa Michelle Resendez of Killeen and Sandra Resendez Bradley of San Antonio; a son, Mario (Tommy) Koole of San Antonio; a sister, Paula Resendez Rasco of Baytown; a brother, David Resendez Jr. (and wife Tina) of Kyle; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mario (Tommy) Koole, David Resendez Jr., Reymundo Ramirez, Kenneth Millican, Chartif Bradley, and Duane Bullock. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Adam Koole.
