R. Lee Kretz, age 88 of Temple, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in a local nursing center. Private burial will be held at Ebony Grove Cemetery in Mercedes. Mr. Kretz was born June 4, 1924 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Jake A. and Clara Ehrlick Kretz. He married Bertha Rodgers in 1944. She preceded him in death in 2002. He was a minister with the Seventh Day Adventist Church for 40 years. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth L. Kretz, Sr. and wife, Elayne of Temple and Lawrence L. Kretz and wife, Linda of Hope, Arkansas and one grandson, Kenneth L. Kretz, Jr. of Temple.
