Randall L. (Randy) Swan, age 70, of Temple died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 20 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Mattson officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Swan was born on July 29, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Luther LeRoy and Helen Grace (Ratcliff) Swan. He met Geraldine Ann Wruck his wife of 43 years, September 29th, 1965 at Cheles (Shellys) Bar in downtown Chicago. They were married on January 8, 1966. He was a devoted husband, father and friend of all, he never met a stranger. Randy was a very strong and deeply faithful man. He walked a quiet, but deliberate path, leaving everyone he met more fortunate. He started out in the FBI, but found that his "never met a stranger attitude" served him better in the car business. He was an unbelievable example of a man. He has two sons who will dedicate their lives to living by the example he set. The world has lost a friend but gained yet another compass. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Andrew Christopher Swan. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Charles M. "Bud" Swan and wife, Kristin of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Matthew T. Swan of Temple and one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Swan, daughter of Matthew Swan of Temple and one sister, Joan Clark and husband, Bob of Crown Pointe, Indiana.
