Rev. Charles R. Mangone, age 77, of Kempner died Saturday, August 6, 2011 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple with Rev. Dana Wilhelmsen officiating. Burial will be private. Rev. Mangone was born on August 21, 1933 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Charles and Elizabeth (Mangone) Mitchell. He was reared and educated in Pennsylvania. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 17 years and the U. S. Army for seven years serving in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a CWO2 in 1975. He married Charlene Robinson on September 9, 1966. He became a Lutheran minister in the Missouri Synod in 1980. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple. He was survived by his wife, Charlene Mangone of Kempner, one son, Charles Robert Mangone, Jr. and wife, Debra of Missouri, two daughters, Robin Star Lahrman and husband, Danny of Columbia City, Indiana and Julie Boland and husband, Jim of Red Oak, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and two sisters.
