Mr. Leija was born in Temple to Antonio Leija and Beatrice Resendez Leija. He lived in Temple his entire life and was a truck driver for Joe Richards Construction Company for thirty three years. He then worked for Shallow Ford Construction Company. Survivors include two sons Ricky Leija Jr. and Manuel Leija, both of Temple; three daughters Joanie Ramos of Troy, Olivia Leija and Alexandria Leija both of Temple; one brother Robert Leija of Temple; four sisters Martha Moreno of Temple, Mary Lousia Ramirez of Troy, Irene Pierluisses of Belton and Josie Aviles of McGregor and four grandchildren.
