
Robert (Bob) H. Snipes, 80, of Temple, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Snipes and Rev. Daniel Robinson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Calvert City Cemetery in Calvert, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Snipes was born January 5, 1926 in Roby, Texas to Roy and Olive Sanderson Snipes. He was reared in San Antonio, Texas where he graduated from Brackenridge High School. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a member of Manor Baptist Church in San Antonio where he taught Sunday school. Mr. Snipes was in the new and used car business most of his adult life in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Sinton, and Waco. He was general manager of Maynard Phillips Toyota-Chrysler in Waco from 1972 to 1988. At the time of his death he owned and operated Bob Snipes' Clean Cars since 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Lou Snipes, brothers, Roy and Jack Snipes, sister, Mary Lydia (Nin) Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Kay Hall Snipes of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Kathy Snipes of Birmingham, Michigan; step-son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Julie Hall of Temple; granddaughter and husband, Jennifer and Wade Spencer of Boston, Massachusetts; grandson, Jeffrey Snipes of Tampa, Florida; step-grandchildren, Molly and Mason Cooke, and Marshall Hall; one sister, Dorothy Bull of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Clayton Crews, Dennis Green, Stacy Jenkins, Douglas Keilers, Bill Locklar, and Dale Whitesell. Memorials may be made to Meadow Oaks Baptist Church, 3100 Thornton Lane, Temple, Texas 76502, Texas Baptist Children's Home, P. O. Box 7, Round Rock, Texas 78680, or to a charity of choice.
