

Robert A. Olsen, age 80, of Temple, died November 7, 2017, at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Scanio Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas with Gary DeSalvo officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Scanio Harper Funeral Home. Robert Olsen, or Bob to his family and friends and Grandpa/Papa Ole to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was born on March 4, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Thorsten and Mary LeFevour Olsen. He graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1955. Bob served in the United States military and as a Criminal Investigator Special Agent for the Office of Inspector General, United States Department of Agriculture for over 30 years. He retired in 1994. He served as a GOP Precinct Chairman and Precinct Election Judge in Temple, Texas for many years. He was active in the Gideon's international. Bob’s dedication to God, his country, and his family was admired and beloved by all those who knew him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Olsen of Chicago, Illinois. Survivors include his beloved wife of 31 years, Annette Olsen, his four children - daughter, Deborah Worley Slaughter (John) of Temple, Texas and daughter Michelle Worley Yglecias (Bert) of Waco, Texas; and son, Eric Worley (Stephanie) and son, Brent Worley (Sherri), both of Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother, George Olsen of Bruce, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Bible Church Missions or Building Fund in Temple, Texas or Gideon's International, PO Box 1023, Belton, Texas.
