Robert Franklin Chambers Robert Franklin Chambers (Frank-Papa) 99 of Temple died Friday January 15, 2010 at his residence. Services for Mr. Chambers will be at 10:00 AM Monday January 18, 2010 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Hubert Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Mr. Chambers was born October 20, 1910 in Dallas to Robert Franklin and Annie Lowder Chambers. He graduated from Fate High School at the age of 16. He married Ovetta Harris July 29, 1935 in Killeen. They then moved to New Mexico where his brother-in-law taught him to be a mechanic. In 1937 he and Veta moved to Temple where he went to work for Johnson Chevrolet. He and Sonny Hallford were in the automotive repair partnership for many years. He retired in December 1975. He was preceded in death by 4 Sisters and a Son. Veta died in 1986. He later married Lenella Iley Chambers, she died in 1997. He is survived by 2 daughters Suzann White and her husband Lonnie and Jan Buckmaster and her husband Ferrill. Also surviving is an adopted daughter Billie Fredrickson of Austin and a step-son Don Iley and his wife Mary of Colorado, 5 grandchildren 4 step-grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday January 17, 2010 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Ralph Wilson Youth Club 310 South General Bruce Drive Temple, Texas 76504.
