
Robert (Bob) Cooney, age 63 of Temple, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at his residence. Services and burial will be held at a later date. Mr. Cooney was born September 22, 1950 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to John A. and Katherine D. Tyson Cooney. He was reared and educated on Long Island, New York. He graduated from East Islip High School in New York in 1968. He attended Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre where he received his bachelor's degree in business. He later attained his CPA certificate and worked in New York City for several years before moving to Texas in 1982. He had been a resident of Temple for the past 10 years. He was last employed as comptroller at King's Daughters Clinic. He was a Catholic and avid trivia player and crossworder. Survivors include two brothers, Dr. John A. Cooney and wife, Ann of Temple and Dr. Edward A. Cooney and wife, Louise of Lorena. Also surviving are two nieces, three nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
