
Robert F. Peterson M.D., 74, of Temple died Thursday May 25, 2006 in a Waco, Texas nursing center. Services for Dr. Peterson will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday May 31, 2006 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park in Waco, Texas. Dr. Peterson was born June 25, 1931, in Drummond, Oklahoma the son of Roy Edwin and Myrtle May Jantz Peterson. He married Jacquelyn Mundell on Thanksgiving Day 1953. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine, after which he completed a one year Rotating Internship at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City and received his four year specialty training in Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He then served as the sole Pathologist and Chief of Laboratory Medicine with the U.S. Army Hospital at Fort Hood, Texas. He began his Pathology practice at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, and in 1965 moved to Temple, Texas, where he joined the staff of Scott & White Clinic, and eventually served as Chairman of the Department of Pathology for twelve of his thirty-seven year to the Temple Community. Dr. Peterson is survived by his wife Jacquelyn Peterson of Temple two children Diane Lynn Peterson of Kruger Ville, Texas and one son Keith DeWitt Peterson of Houston, Texas two grandchildren and one sister. A family visitation will be held from 6 until 7:30 P.M. Tuesday May 30, 2006 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Greater Austin Chapter 3429 Executive Center Drive Suite #100 Austin, Texas 78731 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
