Robert Earl Finto, age 84, of Troy, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at a local hospital. Born on April 25, 1941, in Jourdanton, Texas, he was the beloved son of Sam and Mable Belle (Feathers) Finto.
A man of deep faith and dedicated service, Robert was a cherished member of Faith Temple Lighthouse in Temple, Texas. There, he faithfully served in many roles over the years, including board member, deacon, and usher. His warm spirit, unwavering commitment, and kind heart touched the lives of many within his church and community.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Genie Finto of Troy, Texas; his children, Deborah Shaeffer and husband Billy of Troy, Michelle Olsen of Academy, Roger Finto and wife Carolyn of Temple, and Rev. Robert Lee and wife Raney of Lott. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren—Jason, James, Josh, William, Matthew, Amanda, Catherine, Tommy, Kamie, and Jimmy—and a great-grandfather to twelve. He is also survived by his brothers, Tommy, Milton, and Johnny Finto.
He was preceded in death by his son Randal Earl Finto; a great-grandson, Hunter Malachi Ogle; his parents; and six sisters and four brothers.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Robert's life during a visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76504.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Pendleton Cemetery.
Robert Earl Finto will be remembered for his steadfast faith, generous heart, and enduring love for his family. His legacy of service, strength, and devotion will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
