

Robert Lee "Bob" Dana, age 83, went to be with Our Lord in Heaven July 4, 2016. Bob was born in Temple May 30, 1933, to Jerry and Otilie Dana, the youngest of three children. He graduated from Temple High School, attended Tarleton, and served in the U. S Army. He served active duty for two years and was honorably discharged to serve eight years in the reserves. He worked as a supervisor at Wilsonart for over 25 years and has had businesses which included dirt construction, trucking, real estate, farming and ranching. Bob and Ruby, his wife of 55 years, owned and operated Bob's Burgers and Barbeque in Heidenheimer. He retired from truck driving in 2013. Bob enjoyed barbecuing, hunting, fishing, and raising cattle and Dorper sheep. He was a proud member of the Dorper Association, and had love and compassion for all living creatures. As such, the family has requested memorials be made to the Temple City Animal Shelter. His dog and companion, Susie, will greatly miss him as will all of us who love him. Bob was a loving husband, father, uncle, and friend. He was much loved in the East Bell County Community where he was born, raised, and lived all of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Otilie Dana; and his brother, Joe Dana. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; his children, Tim and Tiann; and his sister, Ann Repka.
