Roy Martinez, Jr., age 49 of Temple, died Monday, December 2, 2013 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, December 6, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Rev. Tom Chamberlain as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at Temple Garden of Memories. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Martinez was born January 22, 1964 in Temple to Roy and Maria Vela Martinez. He graduated from Temple High School in 1982. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Survivors include his parents, Maria and Roy Martinez, Sr., one son, Michael Martinez and one daughter, Christina Martinez all of Temple, two sisters, Mary Martinez of Temple and Rita Martinez of Grand Prairie and one granddaughter, Karina Carranza of Temple.
