Royce served in the United States Navy from January 26, 1965 until honorably discharged on January 21, 1969. While in the Navy, Royce received several medals and Navel commendations. He served on the aircraft carrier the USS Kitty Hawk as a fire fighter and participated in combat operations in Vietnam as part of the unit of the U.S. 7th Fleet.
He is survived by his sister Rose Morris of Temple, a brother Tim Collins of Temple and four children, Jamie, Jeffrey, Mandy, and Dustin all residing out of state.
A private family memorial will take place.
