Ruby L. “Miss Ruby” Waite, age 93 of Temple, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 in a local care center. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 7th at North Belton Cemetery with Chaplain Gary Baxley officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Waite was born December 25, 1924 in Sherman, Texas to Melvin C. Cundiff and Mary Angeline Cundiff. She had been a longtime resident of the Temple area. She was a homemaker and had attended Trinity Church in Temple for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. W. Waite in 1989, her parents, two daughters, Gloria Jean Wetzel and Rebecca Waite Ledwith, five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include two sons, Lumen Wetzel and wife, Freida of Troy and Michael Dean Waite and wife, Jo-Anne of Crosby and one daughter, Phyllis Jo Wetzel Woljevach and husband, Ron of Temple, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
