Russell "Russ" Glen Hamby, age 50 of Temple, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 21, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, March 28 at Temple Bible Church with Rev. Gary DeSalvo officiating. Private burial with military honors will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Russ was born August 15, 1962 in Pensacola, Florida to Richard and Sue Hamby. After graduating from Temple High School, he attended Temple College, Texas State Technical University and Texas State University. He served his country four years in the U. S. Coast Guard. He loved cats and surfing. Russ was a very creative and artistic individual who designed and built Southwest Plaza and Discover Natural Foods. He also owned Art from Beyond in the past. Survivors include his parents, Richard and Sue Hamby and his daughter, Kristen Hamby all of Temple. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Neema Orphanage, Tanzania c/o The Vine Church, 4311 S. 31st St., Ste. 150 #119, Temple, TX 76502
