Ruth Bridges, age 94 of Temple, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her residence. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, December 22, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Chaplain Dr. Rodney Kruse officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bridges was born August 28, 1920 in Bartlett to Ira and Grace Eilenberger Davis. She attended Nicosia's School of Beauty Culture and worked as a beautician in Temple. She married Jesse B. Bridges on October 23, 1940. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, infant son Curtis, in 1943, and son Leslie, in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Gary Lee Bridges and Rodney Bridges both of Temple, brother, Leroy Davis of Leander, sister, Evelyn Berry of Temple, one grandson, two granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
