Shantaben Navnitray Parekh, age 87, of Temple passed away early on the morning of Thursday, August 14, 2008 at King's Daughters Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 16, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. After the service her body will be cremated at Bellwood Crematory. She was born in 1921 at Bhavnagar, India and came to the United States in 1989 before moving to Temple in 2006. She married Navnitray Vrajlal Parekh in 1937. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1956. She was a member of Gujarati Samaj of Central Texas. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Mohanlal Vora. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Kishor Parekh and Vasanti Parekh of Temple, two daughters, Sarayu Parikh of Sihor, India and Jaybala Maniyar of Morvi, India and nine grandchildren, Dr. Nisha Parekh of Temple, Montu Parekh of Temple, Dr. Palak Parekh of Temple, Dr. Kunal Parekh of New York, Sonal Shah of Bhavnagar, India, Paras Parekh of Bombay, India, Jagruti Vora of Bhavnagar, India and Raju Maniyar of Morvi, India.
