

Funeral Services for Shelley G. Bolsins, 84, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Meadow Oaks Baptist Church with Rev. Lillian Hinds officiating. Private burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Bolsins died Tuesday in a Temple hospital. Mr. Bolsins was born January 20, 1932 in Edinburg, Texas to A.J. Bolsins and Abbie Rae Sutton Bolsins. He moved to Temple, from Giddings, 65 years ago. He married Vanny Brown in November, 1955. He was a mason and owned Bolsins Masonary and was a longtime member of Brick Layer and Allied Craft Workers Association. He was a member of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, usher and greeter. He was chairman of the Building Committee that planned and constructed the first building at Meadow Oaks Baptist Church. He and his wife were the longest tenured members of that Church. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and he was a licensed pilot. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and participated in Angel Flights. Mr. Bolsins was preceded in death by his son John Shelley Bolsins in 2004, one brother Kenneth Bolsins and one sister Gloria Bolsins Sikes. Survivors include his wife Vanny Bolsins of Temple; his daughter Susan Bolsins Kilcoyne of Fredericksburg; one sister Nancy Jane Bolsins Tomlin of Dallas; four grandchildren Alicia Smith of Quincy, Illinois, Elizabeth Kraus of Canyon Lake, Michelle Kilcoyne of College Station, Travis Kilcoyne of Fredericksburg and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Meadow Oaks Baptist Church. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
