Shirley grew up in Hearne and attended Hearne High School before beginning a life dedicated to serving others. She later became a graduate of King's Daughters Nursing School, earning her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification. Throughout her life, Shirley shared her many talents as a licensed cosmetologist and floral designer, bringing comfort, beauty, and joy to countless lives.
On March 21, 1970, Shirley married the love of her life, Richard Franklin. Together they built a loving home and shared over 56 years of marriage, raising their family in Rogers, Texas. Shirley was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Rogers, where her faith was the foundation of her life.
Above all else, Shirley was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She treasured every gathering, celebrated every milestone, and created lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, Shirley found great happiness in crafting and displaying her handmade creations at local craft shows, where her talent, creativity, and friendly smile touched many in the community. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Franklin of Rogers; her daughter, Kim Murrow and husband Darrel of Rogers; her son, Kevin Franklin of Rogers; her grandchildren, Stephen Murrow, Aaron Cawthon, Tanner Luna, Taylor Murrow, Shawn Ward, Stephanie Murrow, and Caleb Ward; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Murrow, Aaron Cawthon, Tanner Luna, Taylor Murrow, Shawn Ward, Stephanie Murrow, and Caleb Ward.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Ray Crow officiating. Interment will follow at Rogers Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rogers Volunteer Fire Department.
Shirley leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, hard work, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
