

Sidney (Sid) W. White passed away at his home on Thursday, Oct 8th, three days shy of his 86th birthday. He was born on Oct 11, 1929, to Allan & Truda White in Amherst, TX, the youngest of three children. He leaves behind his precious and beloved wife of 64 years Wanda Hodges White, son Mark & wife Jonda of Austin, son Gary & wife Sandy of Dallas, daughter Suzanne & husband Scott Patterson of Waco, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Chrysteene Kindred, brother Allan White and grandson Curtis White. Sid was a family man, a man of integrity and a man who loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. He was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He enjoyed spending time with each of them and loved remembering the trips and adventures they had shared with one another through the years. He worked for IBM for over 30 years in marketing and education during which time he and his family lived in Amarillo, Austin, Dallas and Houston. After retirement, Sid moved to Temple to take a teaching position at University of Mary Hardin Baylor. In each location he and Wanda made lifelong friends who that they enjoyed traveling with, playing bridge with or just going out to dinner with on a Friday night. Sid & Wanda always found a church home where they could be active. He was an active member at First Baptist Temple where he had served as a deacon and on various committees. He had a positive attitude about life and always shared a smile and handshake or hug to those he came in contact with. Sid always made you feel special. The family would especially like to thank Lawrence and Isaac of Bluebonnet Health Services, Juanita and all of the Visiting Angels who cared for him and Wanda these last few months. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, 900 College Street, Belton, TX 76513 or First Baptist Church of Temple, 8015 W. Adams Ave., Temple, TX 76502. A family graveside service will be held in Colleyville, TX on Sunday, Oct 11th, officiated by Rev. Doug Young.
