On Saturday, November 8, 2025. Stewart Clayton Graham quietly left this earth to enter his heavenly home and rejoin his wife Doris Landry Graham. Visitation will be held at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 3 – 5pm. A private family graveside will follow on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Stewart was the sixth child born to Susie Boykin Graham and Oscar Berry Graham, Sr. on June 16, 1939. He attended the Zavalla School district schools until moving to Temple. After moving to Temple, he became employed in the service station industry working for his brother, OB Graham Jr. During this time, he also joined the National Guard and was stationed at Fort Polk, LA and then Fort Hood, TX. Around this time, he met his beloved wife, Doris, and they married on December 5, 1959. Following his discharge from the National Guard they started their family in 1962 at which time the first of three children were born.
Stewart joined his younger brother Larry Graham and created Graham Bros. Texaco. Together they owned several successful Texaco stations in Temple. In 1996 Stewart retired desiring to travel and spend time volunteering. Together with Doris they made multiple trips to Alaska, Montana, Canada, and Yellowstone. Summers following Doris’s retirement were spent as volunteer campground hosts for the National Park Service. When not traveling he spent numerous hours volunteering his services at Temple Bible Church.
Stewart leaves behind three children and their families, Karen Graham Barker (Jim) of Athens, GA., Stacey Graham Etchart (Tom) of Bozeman, MT, and David Graham of Lexington, MI., (Nicole). Grandchildren and step grandchildren, George Wideman, Taylor Wideman, Clifton Barker, Nathan Barker, Graham Etchart, Mason Graham, Addy Graham, and Landon Graham.
