Thelma L. Lucas, age 86 of Morgan's Point Resort formerly of Austin, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Austin. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 20 at Covenant Lutheran Church in Temple with Rev. Heath Abel officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 noon at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Mrs. Lucas was born December 28, 1926 in Austin to Thomas and Frances Westling Harvill. She was employed by the Texas State Health Department for over 15 years before leaving to start a family. After raising her family, she and her husband retired to Morgan's Point Resort. She enjoyed time on the lake, Newcomers Club and playing Bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ret. Col. Clarence Lucas, Sr. She is survived by her son, Clarence Lucas, Jr. and wife, Carolyn and grandson Cal all of Austin and one brother, Ben T. Harvill of Fort Worth.
