Thomas Joe Wiley, Sr.

Thomas Joe Wiley, Sr., age 63, of Temple died Sunday, November 8, 2009 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 11, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Gary DeSalvo officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Bellwood Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Wiley was born on July 10, 1946 in Temple to Ely Thomas and Mary Jacqueline (Cantrell) Wiley. He was a lifelong resident of Temple. He married Rose Mary Tallman on September 16, 1968. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was employed as a carpenter and owned Wiley and Son Construction Company. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Rose Wiley of Temple, two sons, Thomas Joe Wiley, Jr. and wife, Kimberly of Temple, Kenny Wiley and wife, Amanda of Temple, one daughter, Amanda Workman and husband, Josh of Troy, one sister, Peggy Pruitt and husband, Bill of Temple and eight grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Jared, Harlie, Beau, Cadin, Skylar and Ariana.
