Thomas Nitta, 83, of Temple died Thursday in a Temple Hospital. Services will be at a later date in Watsonville, California. Mr. Nitta was born in Irvington, California to Tokujiro Nitta and Isano Tagawa Nitta. He graduated from High School in Topaz, Utah and graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. He served in the U.S. Army, in Military Intelligence, during World War II. He married Enid Nitta, who preceded him in death in 1985. He was a Chemist and Documentation Specialist for 3M Company in Northridge, California. He lived in California and Denver before moving to Temple 20 years ago. He was an avid golfer having played many time at Sammons Golf Course in Temple. He was a Buddhist. Survivors include his sister Alice Yoshinaga of Temple. Scanio Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
