Todd grew up playing every sport available to him in Gatesville. Todd was a good student, mostly, and was often a favorite of his teachers. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1980 and went to Henderson County Junior College on a football scholarship, turning down offers from Rice University and several other schools. Todd loved life, the outdoors, travel, sports, and Texas country music. Todd taught 4th grade at Whitney Elementary school, and was LOVED by the students. Todd traveled to 49 of the 50 United States of America. He saw most in Central America and Europe. He made friends everywhere he went.
Todd fought cancer with all of his being for years, but many didn’t know he was sick. He wanted to live on his own terms, and he did.
Todd will be missed by more than many friends! Todd would want you to lift a glass when you hear a REK song and think of him.
Todd is survived by his daughter, Presley Flentge Burkhardt; his niece, Logan Crockett Freedle; his sisters, Stahr Flentge Freedle and Laura Dawn Quinn. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Flentge; his mother, Miriam Stahr Flentge; his younger brother, Kurt Edmund Flentge, and dear cousin, Robert Goodthunder.
