Troy W. Hill, Sr.

Troy W. Hill, Sr., age 88 of Temple, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 in local hospital. A graveside service with military honors will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 16th at Bellwood Memorial Park with Rev. Harlan Haines officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Hill was born April 27, 1927 near Moody to Joe M. and Clydie Mae Daniels Hill. He graduated from Temple High School and was resident of Temple all of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army in WWII where he was a member of Troop D 16th Constabulary Squadron. He married Mary Lou Boyd on May 1, 1947. He owned and operated Hill's Garage in Temple over 60 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Diane Hill. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hill, two daughters, Charlene McKeever of Allen, Katherine (Kathi) Mitchell of Seattle, Washington, two sons, Charles Hill of Temple and Troy Weldon Hill, Jr. and wife, Sally of Leander, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Doris Watts of Belton.
